Spring 2009: Braunton Museum takes over the Explore Braunton website,
www.explorebraunton.org, part of a larger Heritage Lottery funded project designed to expand knowledge of the Parish of Braunton.
November 2009: Braunton Museum wins Heritage Lottery funding for a new project to be called "Americans in wartime North Devon". The aim of the project is to involve the local community, in particular schools and those who remember "The friendly invasion", and to tell the story of how American soldiers trained in the area for the Normandy invasion.
Easter 2010: An exhibition based around the "Americans in wartime North Devon" project opens alongside an exhibition marking the Centenary of the Guiding Association both will run for the Summer season and may go on until Easter 2011.
June 2010: As part of the "Americans in wartime North Devon" project, Braunton Museum will be launching a DVD documenting the D Day training that took place on Braunton Burrows, Croyde and Woolacombe. The launch will be held at the Parish Hall Braunton on the 19th of June at 7 for 7.30, tickets available from the Museum £3.50 each. The DVD will also be available for sale on the night, and afterwards from Braunton Museum at £6.99 (plus £1.50 postage if applicable).
