Originally part of Exeter's first medieval monastery, this splendid Grade 1 listed building later became the Tudor home of a wealthy merchant family. Now presented as their richly furnished Elizabethan town house adorned with beautifully crafted replica furniture and the bright paint and textiles of the period, St Nicholas Priory is one of Exeter's hidden jewels.

In St Nicholas Priory replica furniture and artefacts can be touched and used. There are costumes to try on and games, toys, stories and other items that give a wonderful insight into Tudor life. The Priory is also home to a new display of some of Exeter's original Tudor artefacts from the collection at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum.

Opening Times


School holidays: Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.

School term time: Saturday 10am to 5pm. Group visits and RAMM's School workshops can be booked for term time weekdays.

Closed bank holidays.
