Call for entries 2014 North Devon Heritage Photographic Competition - The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon

Come on all you budding and professional photographers - Get Snapping!

It's time to enter the Museum of Barnstaple & North Devon's annual North Devon Heritage Photographic Competition in partnership with the Exmoor Moorland Landscape Partnership and the North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With classes for Under 16s and for Adults there is no excuse for not entering this year's competition. 

We have lots to celebrate in 2014 -

The Museum's Silver Anniversary - 25 years - so we are also running a special Museum Category - along with our regular six categories of;

• Towns & Villages
• The Coast & The Sea
• Characters
• Landscape
• Wildlife
• Anything Goes!

The judge for 2014 is Dave Green. 

Dave is a contemporary photographic artist who has built up a unique vision of the world through his digitally constructed images.  Renowned for these innovative fused montages and his multi-layered 'ghostcard' technique he continues to push the boundries of photography and regularly exhibits his creative work both locally and as far a field as the USA. With a background in graphic design and commercial photography, he is also a qualified and experienced teacher of photography and an active committee member of Bideford Bay Creatives, promoting the Arts in North Devon. www.greengallery.co.uk

The Diamond Anniversary of Exmoor National Park - 60 years - with the Exmoor Moorland Landscape Partnership (EMLP) sponsoring the Heart of Exmoor Prize!  The theme for their category this year is 'Celebrating Exmoor's Heritage'.

55 years of the North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).  To celebrate this birthday the AONB category is 'Your Very Special Place'.

Closing date for entries is the 6th October 2014.  Selected entries will be shown in the Museum's North Devon in Photographs exhibition which runs from 15th November 2014 to 10th January 2015 - look at the 'Exhibitions' page to discover more about this annual display.
