‘Here’s a Howdy Do’... Gilbert and Sullivan’s operettas made a fortune for the D’Olyly Carte dynasty. This talk will look at their businesses and the marine holiday home that Rupert and Lady Dorothy built for the family at Coleton Fishacre near Kingswear, South Devon in the 1920s. A talk by Jeremy Pearson, formerly Senior Curator for the National Trust in the South West.
