DAWLISH MUSEUM SOCIETY Dawlish Museum wins Heritage Lottery support Today Dawlish Museum Society has received £9,900 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) under their Catalyst Small Grants Awards Scheme to develop a new integrated approach to fundraising and income generation. The appointment of a consultant to analyse and review fund raising opportunities together with a long term strategy and implementation plan for the next two years. In addition to a skills audit and training sessions they will provide practical implementation support and mentoring for fundraising. Dawlish Museum is run entirely by volunteers and receives no government funding. Commenting on the award, Liz Botterill said “We are thrilled to have received the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and are confident that the project will help us to be much more effective with our approach to fund raising. Our volunteers are very experienced in many fields in respect of running the Museum but this funding will enable us to bring in expertise to demonstrate how we can raise funds from a much wider field”.
