Devon General Bus helps to transport guests back         to the WWI at Newton Abbot Museum!

Newton Abbot Museum launched its new Service & Sacrifice WWI exhibitions at the beginning of April.  The gathered guests were invited to view the new displays which concentrate on how the WWI effected the men and women and town.

A remarkable amount of WWI archives and objects have been saved by local families and many artefacts collected by enthusiasts and they are reflected within the new displays.

The museum has also created a travelling exhibition which will tour the town and can be seen at the Passmore Edwards Centre until the 22nd April (closed over Easter) The Devon General Omnibus Trust provided a Heriatge bus to take the guests to see the travelling exhibition, much to everyone's delight!  An unscheduled 1914 car arrived to add even more colour to the day!

Even more stories are available within the newly produced 'Micro-histories leaflets'. The first pack contains 20 WWI stories telling the extraordinary War stories of the people of the town, they are available for just £2:00 at the museum.

Research has already begun to produce another pack of WWI stories for 2015. The Micro-histories are ideal to inspire local school projects as well additional interest  for visitors.  Do ring if you would like more information on 01626-201121.
