Diamond Days in Simcoe and Budleigh Salterton

Added: 25 January 2012
With the Queen's Diamond Jubilee as one of Fairlynch's themes in 2012 museum volunteer helpers and visitors may like to glance across the Atlantic to see how our Canadian partners are celebrating the event.
It was in August last year that a friendship link was announced between Fairlynch and the Eva Brook Donly Museum in Simcoe, Ontario, as noted at http://www.devonmuseums.net/A-transatlantic-partner-for-Fairlynch/Latest-News/
Our Canadian friends have announced their year-long programme for 2012. It's evident that they hold the Queen in as much affection as we do in the UK judging by the Royal Salute that they are staging from 26 February to 25 August, consisting of a display of the Simcoe museum's extensive collection of pictures and information regarding Queen Elizabeth II.
A royal theme also runs through the programme of lectures organised by the Friends of Eva at the Canadian museum.
The full timetable of events is listed on a 2012 Year at a Glance page on the website at http://www.norfolklore.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=133&Itemid=134
