Since 1698 the formidable Eddystone Rocks have been illuminated by a lighthouse.
Discover more about the history and innovation of the four lighthouses that lit the way, including the ones that did not stand the test of time.
Your tour will also include entry into the most famous of the four lighthouses, Smeaton’s Tower. Will you be able to spot its long standing successor on the horizon?
Please be aware that climbing steep stairs and ladders will be part of this guided walk. Visitors must be comfortable in confined spaces.
This is one of our ICE 200 events marking the bicentenary of the founding of the Institution of Civil Engineering in 2018.
£5 per person (includes entry to Smeaton’s Tower).
