Keith Owen, Sidmouth's Remarkable Benefactor

Price: £4.50

Researched and compiled by Rev. Handel Bennett and Christine Hardy

Although he was born in Totnes and spent much of his working life in Canada, after leaving the RAF, Keith frequently stayed in Sidmouth, which he felt was a great example of England as it used to be. When he died in 2007, he left most of his estate for a Trust Fund to be set up and run by the SVA. Christine and Handel have pieced together the story of a man who avoided the camera, and kept few personal records, but was passionate about protecting the landscape, the heritage and the community of the Sid Valley.
