This year the Museum of Barnstaple & North Devon celebrates 25 years...our special Silver Jubilee.

The building that houses the Museum was originally built as a private house in 1872 and has been host to the Barnstaple Literary & Scientific Institute, North Devon Athenaeum and the town's public library throughout the years. 

Come and take a look at photographs recording the building and the many changes to the layout and look of The Square and find out a bit more about one of Barnstaple's most distinguished buildings.
