Museums at Night in Crownhill Fort
3pm to 8pm
Following the excellent feedback received after the 2016 event Crownhill Fort will be participating in Museums at Night.
The Fort grounds will be open from 3pm to dusk, the museum displays will be open throughout the event. The Fort will be lit by many historic lanterns and lamps.
The provisional timetable for the event is as follows:
• 15.00 Grounds open
• 15.45 Firing of a 2 inch field gun
• 16.30 Tour of the ramparts and a talk about the historic artillery
• 17.30 Tour of a Caponier and part of the Chemin de Ronde
• 18.00 The ramparts are closed to visitors
• 19.00 32 pounder cannon firing (even more spectacular at night)
