The next event in the popular series of Thursday evening meetings will be an illustrated talk by Paul Burkhalter about the Plymouth’s Hidden Railways, on Thursday 22 February. There were many of these small lines – private sidings, branches and even tramways, most of which have vanished. Once upon a time they were the very lifeblood of commerce.

Paul has made an extensive study of these railways, and will be bringing along some rare views. This promises to be an interesting and informative session on parts of the system about which many people are simply unaware. Paul will also have copies of his new book on this very subject, and will be delighted to sell you an autographed copy on the evening.

As usual, doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. The meeting will be held in Buckfastleigh Town Hall: parking is available in both the Victoria Woodholme and Mardle Way car parks. Entry is free. Refreshments and a prize draw will also be available, so do come along and join us – you will be very welcome
