Opening Times

Museum & Gift Shop:
The Museum is now open for the season, from 21st March to 30th September 2008, Mon-Sat: 10.30-17.00. 1st to 31st October: Mon-Sat: 10.30- 16.00.
Sun: Closed
Local Heritage Resource Centre:
Open throughout the year, Mon-Thur: 10.00-12.00 and Wed. 14.00-16.00. Other times by appointment.
Office: Normally open Mon-Thur: 10.00-3.00 throughout the year, but times can vary - please phone.

Services

Viewing Gallery: for those unable to access the displays on the first and second floors of the Museum, there is a seated viewing area with a Virtual Museum tour on DVD.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR:
- Group visits to the Museum available by arrangement.
- Local Heritage Resource Centre: Visitors have access to our three computer databases: Collections (including over 9000 photographs), Local History and Heritage (including maps, books, archives etc.). Open Mon-Thur 10 am-12 noon, also Wednesdays 2-4 pm. Other times by appointment. Devon Record Office service point, parish registers, census information, local life, names & villages files and other records. Research support available. Microfilm of Kingsbridge Gazette since 1855 can also be viewed in Heritage Resource Centre.
- Photographic Collection: we have an extensive collection of heritage pictures. Many of the photographs in the Museum and on our database can be reproduced, mounted or framed: please ask for details at the main desk during opening hours, or the whole collection can be searched and viewed in the Duncombe Gallery or the Local Heritage Resource Centre.

How to find us

The museum is at the top of the town on the A379 from Plymouth (and Loddiswell). Use the car park at the top of Fore Street and the museum is 100 yards up the street on the left. Coaches may drop passengers opposite the museum and then proceed to the large car park near the Quay.
