General History activity session : Education programme
Torre Abbey is currently undergoing the largest heritage restoration project in the south-west.  Most of the collections are therefore held in store for the time being and will be inaccessible until the summer of 2008.  However, the project can still provide an exciting opportunity for learning.

Subject to strict health and safety provisions (and the requirements of the building contractors) small groups may tour the site with the curator Les Retallick to see the work in progress.  They can learn about the project, see some of the new finds and discover the Abbey's long and rich history.

The adjacent Spanish Barn makes an ideal base for visiting groups and during the summer it displays an exhibition on the project (for opening times please see the Enquiries page).  There are also opportunities for creative learning through artwork, writing and storytelling.

To discuss your education requirements or for further information please contact Les Retallick on 01803 293593 or email leslie.retallick@torbay.gov.uk
