February’s Thursday evening social evening for the SDRT Museum will feature a new departure for us. The illustrated talk will by Graham Wilkins, and will be all about the SDR Garden Railway. Based on the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh, the Group has a large and comprehensive layout featuring a number of track gauges on which members regularly operate a varied range of mostly live-steam locomotives and trains. You can expect to see some very fine scale models, and also some quite eccentric creations!

The Garden Railway operates most weekends of the SDR running season, and is extremely popular with young and old alike. Graham Wilkins will give a detailed illustrated account of the Group’s activities, which is guaranteed to make for a fascinating evening.

The meeting takes place in Buckfastleigh Town Hall, and doors open at 7.00pm. The show itself starts at 7.30pm. There is plenty of parking in the Victoria Woodholme and Mardle Way car parks, both of which are free after 6.00pm. Light refreshments will be available, and there will be a prize draw. Entry is free, so do come along for an entertaining and informative evening.
