We are looking for volunteers to help us open our lovely museum again.

Admission is free, but we rely on donations - every penny counts.

Totnes Archive is now open on Fridays from 10 am until 2pm for the 2024 season.

The Totnes Archive is a fantastic place to investigate all manner of fascinating subjects. Make the most of our great reference library, photograph collection and wide range of historic documents.

Hidden away behind the Museum is our really lovely Garden. Reminiscent for herb gardens of the Elizabethan period, this is a wonderful space to take a break or step away from town’s bustle.

Tended by the wonderful volunteers from Totnes Gardens, this is a fantastic place to come and enjoy nature.

Totnes Museum is a charitable trust and  without the help of our volunteers we can't open to the public.

Can you help?

There is something for everyone, from welcoming visitors as they come in to sterwarding, planning exhibitions and working with our collection to filing. Even cleaning!

The Friends of Totnes Museum were set up with the primary aim to support and raise money for the Totnes Museum Trust.

Membership includes free use of Totnes Archive, special events and talks.

Membership fees go to directly supporting Totnes Museum.

Donations from visitors and shop sales are what keeps the museum going! There is no charge to visit the museum, but we receive no external funding. We suggest a donation of £3 per adult, but all donations are greatly appreciated.
