Barnstaple Art Masters Inspiring Teachers' Work to be Exhibited - The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon

Until the 16th November 2013 the museum will be exhibiting the Barnstaple Masters – paintings by Art Teachers from Barnstaple who taught at various venues across the town, notably the School of Art in Barnstaple’s High Street when it was linked to the Scientific & Literary Institute and the Grammar School, now Park Community School.

 Whilst teaching, these practicing artists influenced art education, inspiring and encouraging the artistic ability of many promising students of the subject.

Featured former Art Teachers will be Joseph Kennedy, Allan Smith, Brian Chugg, Ken Doughty  and Gary Goodwin
