Bishopsteignton Museum of Rural Life

Bishopsteignton Museum of Rural Life

We've come a long way! Our museum is quite small but contains a wealth of exhibits relating to the history of the village and its inhabitants. We have a large collection of documents relating to the population over the years and our curator is happy to help visitors seeking family information.

  • Farming

    A Display of agricultural artefacts.

  • Toys and Models

A fine example of ship modelling by a local craftsman.

  • Geology

A comprehensive display of local land formation and geology

  • Local Maps

A 3 dimensional relief map of the village in 1891. We also have several local tithe maps.

  • World Wars

A selection of documents and posters relating to waretime.
