Our unique collection includes ten major rides including the Victorian Rodeo Switchback (the only spinning top switchback still in existence), examples of 1930s Dodgems, Noah's Ark and Skid rides, and a 1940s Ghost Train (these rides and some other attractions are operational), other rides currently under restoration.
There are superb displays of Fairground Art, Transport and Memorabilia, and large array of vintage stalls and shows.
The Victorian Rodeo Switchback
Believed to be the oldest working powered Fairground Ride, the Rodeo Switchback. The spectacular carved wooden cars, featuring stars of the silent screen, and some bizarre animal characters, date from the 1920s.
The 1930s Dodgem ride
Our 1930s Dodgems were the largest track to ever travel in the UK, and feature some stunning artwork by Hall & Fowle added in the early 1950s.
The 1930s Skid ride
The 1930s skid ride has recently been returned to full working order, following an extensive restoration project. The stunning artwork, by artist F G Fowle, dates from the 1960s.
The 1940s Ghost Train
Our 1940s Ghost Train is a rare survivor, and the subject of a recent restoration project. The artwork is original, and by the well-know firm of Hall & Fowle, acknowledged masters of this craft.
