An exhibition of documents and images looking at the development of the political landscape of North Devon and Torridge from the 1700s to the 2000s.
The exhibition focuses on themes which include: The 18th century Barnstaple MP and crook, Thomas Benson; bribery and corruption at elections in the 19th century; potential riots; petitions; the rise of the Green party; the North Devon Movement; Jeremy Thorpe; and the Liberal and Conservative stronghold on North Devon and Torridge at General Elections.
This exhibition was created in collaboration with the North Devon Record Office.
