Winter Lecture: Exploring the Indigo Trail

Join us at Matthews Hall for our last evening winter lecture on Thursday 14th March-Exploring the Indigo Trail: a global story by Jenny Balfour Paul. Jenny will relate the compelling story of Indigo, the world’s oldest, most magical and best loved dye, central to international trade and the textile industry from mummy wrappings to blue jeans. She will tell us how her explorations took her to remote parts of the world – spanning the mountains of Yemen and the rivers of Mali. She’s written books and featured in several documentary films and television programmes. Doors and bar open at 6.45pm, Lecture starts at 7.30pm £7 payable at the door.
