Allhallows Museum, Honiton gains Accreditation status
Allhallows Museum Honiton gains national quality standard.

Allhallows Museum in Honiton has just been officially ‘Accredited’ by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA). Allhallows Museum, famous throughout the world for its outstanding Honiton lace collection also has displays featuring the history of the town from pre history to the present day.
The Museum Accreditation Scheme sets nationally agreed standard for all museums in the UK. Allhallows Museum’s award proves that it measures up, meeting the guideline on how it is run, how it looks after its collections and the service it provides to its visitors.

Secretary, Margaret Lewis on behalf of the Museum Trustees commented  “ This really is an excellent achievement and something to celebrate especially as this year is also the museum’s sixtieth anniversary. Many people do not realise that Allhallows Museum is run entirely by volunteers and this award endorses all of the hard work that they do.  The MLA’s Accreditation scheme sets a hallmark of quality for visitors and users of museum services in areas of care and documentation of collections, how they are governed and managed and on the information and services we offer to users. We hope that this recognition will generate opportunities that will allow us to continue to develop the services we provide“.

Mark Wood (Chair of MLA) said: “Being awarded Full Accreditation is an impressive achievement. It recognises the high standard and service that the Allhallows Museum provides and acknowledges the hard work of the staff. Many congratulations!”
