The Bovey Tracey Heritage Centre is situated in the Old Bovey Station building, which was in use for rail passenger traffic for nearly 100 years. The station was finally closed in the 1960's. The building had some use as a storage place but was then neglected for nearly 40 years. The Station Building was restored in 2003/4 and was opened as The Bovey Tracey Heritage Centre on 10th of April 2004.

The Centre is run entirely by volunteers and is funded by grants, donations, bequests, sales and local fund raising events.

Additional helpers and volunteers are always needed and welcome. Volunteering is a good way to meet local people, visitors and researchers. Local knowlege is not neccessary and training will be available.

For more details please ring the volunteers organiser on 01626 834331.
