Ancient Riddles, Virtual Adventure: Games Night! - Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery

Experience the ultimate Games Night at RAMM and embark on hair-raising, nail-biting adventures that will take you from the mysteries of the ancient past to the virtual-reality world of the future.

Are you ready for an adults-only evening out quite unlike any other? Have you got what it takes to unravel clues, solve puzzles, embrace challenges and experience virtual reality?

Grab a drink from the licensed bar and explore the museum at night. Games and activities will be located throughout the galleries to stumble across and enjoy at your leisure.

Highlights include:

Rowley’s Riddle – an escape-room style adventure that pits you against the clock as you race through the museum’s galleries, hunting for clues, solving puzzles and piecing together the final code to claim ultimate victory! *Extra ticket required – see below.

The Congo Adventure – have you got what it takes to unravel the layers of deception and misdirection to break into a mysterious wooden crate that has been delivered to the museum? The countdown is on!

Minecraft – jump into the world of Minecraft and explore Roman or Tudor Exeter, lovingly recreated by RAMM, block by digital block.

VR Experience – can you beat Beat Saber? Surrounded by a futuristic world, you slash the beats of adrenaline-pumping music as they fly towards you. Strap on a headset and jump in!

Games from Around the World – Sample a selection of games such as Dutch Sjoelbak, African mancala, Chinese mah-jong, Roman tabula and ancient Egyptian senet, and learn about their great migration through time and space.

The Riddle of RAMM – Help us to Beta-test a brand new digital ‘escape-room-styled’ game and help to save two archaeologists lost in the jungle by finding clues to their whereabouts hidden in the museum (your own mobile device is required to play this game).

*Rowley’s Riddle will be a bolt-on requiring purchase of an extra £5 ticket – a link to this will be sent to the booking email address at 5pm on Tues 28 Feb. First come, first served.
