An evening lecture by John Allen, Consultant Archaeologist to the Dean and Chapter of Exeter Cathedral.
Devon and Cornwall had a large immigrant population at the end of the Middle Ages, amongst whom were skilled Breton craftsmen, including woodcarvers.
Late Medieval woodcarving, including some of the most beautiful works surviving in Devon churches, country houses and towns can be attributed to these craftsmen.
Doors open at 6.45 p.m. Lecture begins at 7.30 p.m. Bar available.
