This display shows a small selection of Art Pottery from RAMM’s collections. The pieces have been chosen to complement the touring exhibition of William De Morgan’s ceramics which will be shown at RAMM from May to September 2023.
Through the viewpoint windows you can explore the colours, patterns, ideas and motifs that were celebrated by so many Arts and Crafts potters, such as William De Morgan and the Martin Brothers in London or Charles Brannam and Alexander Lauder in North Devon. Many of these potters, like De Morgan, drew inspiration from Islamic ceramics and you can see examples from Turkey and Iran alongside the pots on display.
