Discover footprints which are 3.66 million years old, learn about the movements of hunter-gatherers, and hear about modern scientific techniques shedding light on the movements of ancient travellrs.
Join award winning archaeologist, lecturer and writer Jim Leary and embark on a journey into the deep past. Jim Leary is a Senior Lecturer at the University of York, specialising in prehistoric monuments and landscapes. He was formerly a prehistorian with English Heritage and has directed significant excavations across Britain. In his new book, Footmarks, he follows the footsteps of early hunter-gatherers preserved in mud and treads ancient trackways hollowed by feet over time.
Talk starts at 18.30, with the Are we nearly there yet exhibition? open for viewing from 18.00.
Jim will be delighted to sign copies of his book on the night, so why not buy a combo book/talk ticket for an exclusive discount on both!
