What happened when University of Exeter Arts and Culture sent BBC radio producer Mair Bosworth and poet Fiona Benson into the wilds to learn about insects and their love songs?

Join them on their journey from the Smoky Mountains of West Virginia to the meadows of Totnes in this live listening event. Steep yourself in the extraordinary world of insects, from fireflies that coordinate their light shows, to seventeen-year periodical cicadas breaking Mair’s microphone with their racket. Come and listen to insects, conversations with their enthusiasts and the new poems they have inspired.

There will also be an extraordinary chance to see the special insect collections at the RAMM with the museum’s natural science specialist, Holly Morgenroth.

Commissioned by Arts and Culture at the University of Exeter, as part of the Urgency series. #projecturgency.

Tickets are available online or from the Royal Albert Memorial Museum reception in person or by phone using a credit or debit card on 01392 265858 during opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
