Following the closure of the Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centre in Princetown, their Sherlock Holmes Hound of the Baskervilles display has been relocated to Dartmoor Prison Museum.  The book's author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stayed at the Visitor Centre in 1902 when it was the Duchy Hotel and used the locations in the novel, including featuring an escaped prisoner! Visitors can dress up as Sherlock, an escaped prisoner, prison or police officer, or sit and listen as Conan Doyle tells you how he came to write the book.
