Shooting Gallery for Fairground Heritage Centre collection - Dingles Fairground Museum LAST SEASON CLOSING ON 1st November
By: Michael Smith
Added: 16 April 2012
The start of the 2012 season sees several new acquisitions on display at the Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre. All have been acquired over the course of the winter and prepared for display by volunteers.
Freddy Thomas and family of Plymouth have donated their traditional Rifle Range to the museum. This very old stall has been brough back to its peak by Freddy's son Chris, a professional fairground artist, assisted by the museum volunteers. The stall features its original decorated hangings and a display of vintage "swag" (prizes), but can also be used by visitors. The original finger box targets have been installed in one half for adults to practice their shooting skills using rifles with pellets. The other half has been set up as a cork shooter for the children.
