Have you ever wondered how insects in museum collections can survive for hundreds of years? How they keep their colour? How these fragile creatures hold their pose? Or how caterpillars are preserved like tissue paper balloons? Learn how RAMM’s collection of over 250,000 insects was formed and how to preserve and care for your own collection from RAMM’s Natural History curator.
Tutor: Holly Morgenroth
Holly is currently RAMM's Collections Officer. Her main area of interest is natural history. Holly has an undergraduate degree in Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology from the University of Plymouth. During her degree she volunteered at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery helping with their marine biology collection donated by the Marine Biological Association. Holly graduated in 2009 from the University of Leicester with an MSc in Museum Studies. As part of this course she undertook an 8 week placement at RAMM.
