Time: 10.30am - 2.15pm

Join craftsman Alex Finberg for a day carving spoons from Dartmoor trees.
We will be carving wind fallen and sustainable wood grown on Dartmoor with knives and hook tools, to create beautiful functional wooden spoons. We will delve into RAMM’s collections to find inspiration in historic spoons from diverse cultures. By recreating ancient spoons, we aim to build a connection through time to the people who once used them, reflecting on the traditions and customs that shaped their culinary culture.
Suitable for young people aged 12 to 18. Accompanying parent/carer optional if extra support is required (parents attend free), though due to space constraints we’d encourage young people to attend unaccompanied for this particular workshop.
