Thursday the 6th June will be the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and here at Dawlish Museum we are proud to be the home to the original bagpipes played by Piper Bill Millin as he disembarked onto Sword Beach and then played later on his way to Pegasus Bridge to help relieve the paratroopers holding it. Also on display are his original kilt and dirk along with many photos, news cuttings and looped video of his story. This photograph shows Bill entertaining the lads the day before they left for Normandy.
