Take a trip down memory lane this February half term holiday as we screen Bruce Brown's iconic surfari 'The Endless Summer' - to celebrate the official 50th anniversary of the movie being filmed in 1964.
Bruce himself has sent us a special 'thank you' message from California that we will show before the movie! The charity film nights are part of a week of events for the school holiday - don't forget to drop in on the Museum of British Surfing for the last chance to see our special exhibition about surfing in Britain in the 1960s - click here for details.
'The Endless Summer' was filmed in 1964 and released in '66. It inspired a new wave of people to become surfers, and those who were already surfers to travel in search of new waves. It was first shown in cinemas around the UK in 1967 and follows the journey of two young surfers as they travel the world searching for the perfect wave & the dream of living an 'endless summer'.
The charity screenings take place on Saturday February 15th and Tuesday February 18th at 8pm at Croyde Village Hall, in partnership with the famous Croyde Deckchair Cinema. There is a licensed bar and toilets. Only 100 tickets are available, and deckchairs & other seats are on a first come first served basis.
Tickets are priced just £3 for adults and £2 for children aged 16 & under are now available in the surfing museum's online gift shop - just click on the links below:
