A Night at the Museum.

Saturday evening saw ten members of the Haunted Devon Society visit Exmouth Museum for a night vigil.  The Society investigates historical sites throughout Devon to search for signs of paranormal activity.

The museum buildings are over 120 years old and were formerly the Council stables and the living accommodation for the Foreman and his family.  The old Town Morgue is within a few yards of the building.  No wonder therefore that Haunted Devon were keen to investigate.

A member of the museum staff was present throughout and commented that there was nothing dramatic revealed but there were sufficient indications of 'presences' for the Society to be interested in coming back on a future occasion.

There were particular signs of activity on the stairs leading up to what were the bedrooms for the Foreman's family and are now the Museums offices and storeroom.  One paranormal researcher commented that he felt that someone was trying to block him going up the stairs, when he turned to come down he got a strong feeling that he was being pushed from behind.

Museum Curator Alan Arthur said "I am still somewhat sceptical but several of our volunteers have reported similar feelings and I would welcome further investigation."
