The next event in the popular series of Thursday evening meetings from the South Devon Railway Trust Museum will be an illustrated talk by Bernard Mills. His latest book is called Backtracking around the Tavistock, Launceston and Princetown branches, and will be published very shortly. Bernard will be showing a selection of photos from the book, and signed copies will be available to buy on the evening.

Bernard has been an accomplished and prolific recorder of the railways in the West Country for many years. His latest book draws on his huge photographic archive and knowledge of railways in Plymouth and surrounding area, and complements his earlier volumes. These railway branch lines had a long and varied history and performed valuable services for the communities that they served.

The meeting takes place in Buckfastleigh Town Hall, and doors open at 7.00pm. The show itself starts at 7.30pm. There is plenty of parking in the Victoria Woodholme and Mardle Way car parks, both of which are free after 6.00pm. Light refreshments will be available, and there will be a prize draw. Entry is free, so do come along for an entertaining and informative evening.
