Evacuees Visit the Museum - Exmouth Museum and Heritage Centre registered charity 1216717

On the penultimate day of term we entertained pupils and staff from the Beacon School.
The Beacon is celebrating 150 years this year and the pupils had learned that during the War the school had played host to evacuees from London.
We were able to show them the clothes that the evacuees would have brought with them in their suitcases and give them some understanding of what life would have been like living here in Exmouth during the War years.
An enjoyable and informative end to their School Year.
We welcome School visits and also lend out artefacts for classroom study - just contact us for details.
