Heritage Open Days From Hearth to High Street - Bampton Heritage and Visitor Centre

From Hearth to High Street celebrates everyday village life, capturing the people, homes, businesses, streets, and community events that have shaped Bampton over the years. A continuous visual presentation showcases a carefully chosen selection of archive images, offering a glimpse into the village's rich social and architectural history. It also features adverts and items from life up to the 1960s.

Alongside the screening, visitors can browse items from the past, relating to both home and high street. These fascinating items are not normally available for public viewing and provide an intimate window into Bampton's past, preserving memories of families, local traditions and familiar places that have changed—or, in some cases, remained remarkably the same.

Many of the photographs and documents on display have been generously donated by residents over the years, helping to preserve the village's heritage for future generations. Every image tells a story, and together they create a lasting record of the community's shared history.
