Model locomotive arrives! - Newton Abbot Museum

Mr David Chalk, who lives in Kent, built this fine 5” gauge 2-8-2 7200 class model locomotive in the late 1990s. Not surprisingly, this wonderful loco won a gold medal and the Crebbin Cup at the London model engineering exhibition in 1998. Mr Chalk has donated the model to the museum, an incredibly generous donation considering the hours spent on its construction - it even has the initials NA painted above the right-hand wheel! The model fits beautifully in the railway room. As it arrived, a great team of men were on hand to help with the transport to its new home!
