                  speaking at Ways with Words

                   2:30pm on 9th July 2013

             in Dukes Room, Dartington Hall.

Katy Bennie, oral archive lead and museum volunteer, is presenting the oral archive team's

work, so far.

The oral archive team, Katy Bennie,Ann Porter and Kiera Gould have been working hard this year collecting stories from the local community. Kiera has done a fantastic job of editing 'sound bites'  from the recordings, which have JUST been uploaded onto the Newton Abbot Museum website!!!..... a selection of them will soon be available on the devonmuseums.net website!

It is hoped the oral archive collection will help to  illustrate the richness of the town’s past through the spoken memories of local inhabitants, and that the recordings will encourage future generations to value what has gone before and raise their own aspirations.

The main themes of the Archive are:

â– A sense of place

â– Past and present

â– The Second World War

Soon to be available on this website
