Wednesday family friendly make and create sessions Curious Creators - The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon

Our regular programme of drop-in art and craft sessions take place on Wednesdays throughout the school holidays. There are two sessions each day. You are welcome to attend one or both sessions.

Sessions are free to attend - donations welcome.

Jewelled mosaics with Athena Jane Churchill
Make your own jewelled gem jar mosaic to take home! Have fun exploring a treasure trove of mosaic magic activities and have the chance to lay some mosaic tiles as part of the new Barnstaple Public Art Welcome Mosaic. A session led by artist, Athena Jane Churchill, and one of the winners of the Barnstaple Public Art Commission.

Everyday treasures with Athena Jane Churchill
Everyday treasures – our freedom: What is freedom and when do we feel free? Creative a treasure box world holding treasured moments and memories of times we feel most free and happy. Create another mixed-media art work with artist, Athena Jane Churchill, as part of a National Art Project to be exhibited later in the year. Athena will take us on a journey using collage, paint, tea and inks exploring the idea of freedom. Wear old clothes!

Printed treasures with Liz Wilde
A session led talented local printmaker and experienced workshop facilitator.

Buried treasure with Nicole Hickin
Come and explore the amazing world of archaeology with our own Nicole Hickin, the Museum’s Curator. Find out what being an archaeologist involves, and make some buried treasure to take home with you!
