Down with the Old and Up with the New
Each year at Totnes Fashion and Textiles Museum there is a completely fresh, themed exhibition using items from our extensive collection.
Our 2012 exhibition Sportswear and Spectators certainly provoked some interest especially as in this Olympic year we were celebrating some very local sporting heroes. But it closed at the end of October. So what do we all do now? Well we are almost busier in the closed months than in the open months
As well as all the usual tasks of cataloguing and caring for our collection, we are also busy taking down the old exhibition, selecting items for the new exhibition and planning their display. We are also producing posters and flyers and thinking about how best to let people know about the new exhibition and organising the textile displays for the windows and ordering stock for the shop. This is a very exciting time for all the volunteers involved.
Our 2013 exhibition is called Re-fashion – Recycling then, now and in the future.
We are offering the opportunity to spend a day working with us during this time. The cost would be £30. If you are interested please make contact via email info@totnesfashionandtextilesmuseum.org.uk
