Join us for a day to discover more about the maritime history of Teignmouth.
This is for anyone who is interested in maritime history, no specialist
knowledge is required! You'll hear talks about a range of topics including:
The Newfoundland cod trade
The growth of Teignmouth as a resort
Shipbuilding on the river Teign
The history of the Stover Canal
Morgan Giles shipbuilder on the Teign
You'll hear from expert local speakers in the heritage centre,
an award-winning building in the centre of Teignmouth. After the day you'll
have the chance to enjoy a guided walk around some of the places you'll have
heard about during the day.
