A work experience pupil arives from Sweden

Hello, my name is Elin and I’m 17 years old, and I’m doing work experience for 3 weeks in the Newton Abbot museum. I’m from Sweden and the town that I live in is called Hudiksvall. In Hudiksvall we have also have a museum, it’s about our towns history and there’s an art gallery. Hudiksvall is about the same size as Newton Abbot, but the different is that we have snow every winter, and it’s quite a lot of snow. There are 10 students here from Sweden to do work experience, and we all are from the same school and from the same class.

I've been looking through boxes and i came across this victorian commemorative trowel. It is connected to the Congregational Church in Newton Abbot. It is dated 20 May 1886.
