A Whiz Of A Week End! - Totnes Museum

Wander back through the centuries for FREE this coming week-end as Totnes Museum helps celebrate this year's national Heritage Open Days. No charge on Saturday and Sunday for anyone who wants to look around our historic building and its collection which is spread over four floors! That's between 10.30 and 4pm each day - Saturday the 10th of September and Sunday the 11th.
Once we've closed our doors, late Saturday afternoon, the town prepares for the Totnes Lantern Procession which will move off from Vire Island at 8pm and head up the main street to the Civic Square. It is truly an amazing sight with scores of young people from the area carrying lanterns of all sizes and descriptions celebrating 'fire'.
Speaking of which, the evening will be rounded off with a fireworks display from the grounds of Totnes Castle, lasting some six minutes between 9 and 10 pm.
