Dartmouth's Ancient Fire Engines both on loan - Dartmouth Museum

It's been fun tracking down both of Dartmouth's Newsham Fire Engines over the last few days. One used to live in the Ambulatory of St Saviour's Church in Dartmouth until it was sent by the church on indefinite loan to the yet to be housed West of England Fire Heritage Museum on 1 February 2012 and the other was reputed to have been donated to the Science Museum in London, something we have confirmed over the last couple of days.

We've put the information on the page in our Picture Archive on the Fire Engine. These old engines were in use until 1906!

As we receive the hoped for permission from the Science Museum we'll add more to the page. Until then we have their catalogue number and a link to their own photograph.
