The Heart of Oak Conservation Project
Workshops are in full swing!
The first of the arts related workshops have taken place. The first of the arts related workshops for our HLF supported project, was story making and puppets which took place in Bearnes School on the 10th and 11th October with artist Tony Gee and his mentee Anna.
Volunteers and some of the Friends of the Museum have been creating felt art works on Friday mornings with artist Carol Timms with more to come on the 21st and 28th October. Together with felt making based at Wolborough Church of England School.
Wood Carver Doug King-Smith was stationed beneath St Leonard's Tower, Newton Abbot on the 12th October demonstrating wood carving and encouraging the public, of all ages, to 'have a go'......they did! A satisfying morning was had by all.
In 2012 there will be opportunities for the public to get involved with Clay and Casting, Photography and Digital Art and Animation....what an opportunity for the town!
