Job opportunity at RAMM LGBTQ Creative Project  - Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery

The Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) is looking for a Devon based LGBTQ+ creative and workshop leader, to develop a creative project to be delivered as part of LGBT+ history month in February and Exeter Pride in May 2025.

Brief
RAMM is looking for a creative practitioner to develop a non-digital creative resource that visitors to RAMM can engage with independently, as part of their visit to the museum. The resource should use RAMM’s collection as inspiration, specifically objects that connect with the LGBTQ+ community. The resource should also form the basis of an engaging, creative workshop to attract families and individuals, across all age ranges. RAMM require you to deliver the workshop once during LGBT+ history month and once as part of the Exeter’s Pride weekend.
This work should build on RAMM’s Out and About: Queering the Museum project which empowered LGBTQ+ communities to uncover and create existing and new LGBTQ+ heritage at RAMM. More details can be found here: Out and About: Queering the Museum – RAMM (rammuseum.org.uk)
Experience
- Experience of developing and delivering creative, non-digital, interactive resources.
- Experience of previously facilitating workshops with a range of ages.
- In order to be considered you will need to be DBS checked.
Fee/Budget
- Freelance Fee: £1,700 (inclusive of travel expenses). This should cover your creative development time for the resource, production time and delivery of the 2 workshops. You will be supported by museum staff with knowledge of collection. 
- We have additional budget to cover any materials.
- Payment Structure: £850 at start of project, £425 after February workshop and remaining £425 after the May workshop.
 
Timeframe
- Initial expression of interest – By November 26th
- Decision made by RAMM on who to appoint – By 2nd Dec
- Creative development and production – December – End of Jan
- Workshops – February 2025 and 10th May 2025
Location
Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, Exeter – however we anticipate that you will work away from the museum when developing the project.
Legal
The artist will retain ownership of the creative output, and hereby grants RAMM a fee-free, perpetual and irrevocable licence to reproduce it in different media (e.g. press, review, learning and website use) for the purposes of promoting the project or RAMM. The commission may also be shown on the RAMM website for an unlimited period of time. No further compensation or remuneration will be owed to the artist in this regard. Any future use will be accompanied by a credit line acknowledging the artist, RAMM and the project partners.
