Light Relief - Totnes Museum

More good news for Totnes Museum, as the season draws to a close, with a successful bid for a £2,000 grant from the Co-operative Society. This was thanks to museum volunteer Anne Linnington and the money will be put towards our LED project. All the exhibition and general lighting will have to be replaced to tie in with European Law which has withdrawn the old incandescent bulbs from sale. LED lighting does not produce the ultra violet wavelength so dangerous to printed or painted paper and cloth. Well done, and thanks! Both Anne and her husband John have been volunteers now for two years. Pictured above, at the cheque presentation, are L to R, Anne Linnington, Pruw Boswell Harper who is Chair of the Totnes Museum Trust, Alan Langmaid, Museum Administrator, and Mr Keith Miles who is a member of the South and West Regional Board of The Co-operative Group and also a member of the Area Committee for South Devon.
Totnes Museum will close for the winter months on October 28th. Then a team of volunteers will move in to start setting up two special exhibitions for next season. One will mark the Museum's 50th Anniversary, and the other the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Just two celebrations coming up in the UK's Olympic Year!
