Monthly Lecture: The Home Front in World War 11 - Topsham Museum
Added: 17 June 2024
The Home Front in World War II” is our next Daytime Lecture at Matthews Hall on Thursday 20th June, 11am-12noon (doors open 10.45am).
Given by Lily Neale, well known for running the wonderful Topsham Bookshop. A known writer and editor in her own right, she’s an active member of the Topsham community as well as having an interest in the history of everyday life in Britain. She has a collection of ephemera connected with wartime civil life in Britain from posters, recipes, advice and demands!
The lecture looks at how the British Wartime government influenced, cajoled, and exhorted civilians to aid the war effort to support the military and protect themselves.
Entrance is £5 payable at the door.
